percale pillowcase

dawn breaks

beams of light
bounce off the bedposts

streams of soft, gentle sun
scatter and highlight
the room

you lie beside me,
still drunk
from the wine
you sipped
laced with honey
from my cup

your eyes shine softly
as lips lock,
long hair entangled
on the pink percale pillowcase

love lingers
in the air
with the scent
of our sin,
and the air is still wet
from the warmth
of our skin

my heart beats, pounding
in heated harmony
with your own

like the purest puzzle,
we fit together
perfectly...
minds and spirits molding
into one as the earth simmers
beneath us

softly, you stroke my idealistic skin
and whisper naive words...
my lover, protector, my life...

let the sun try to stir us

i will not break
from your arms
