About Me

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

Hi everybody it's me Valorie Hakola and if you haven't already guessed this is the page where you will get to know me a little better. :0)

I am a sophomore in college at Chemeketa Community College in Salem,Oregon. I am working on finishing my transfer requirements and I will be transfering to Portland State University in the fall of 2000 where I will be getting my bachelor's degree in Theater Arts with specialties in both acting and directing and a minor in Film Arts. I hope to one day become the next Jodie Foster. lol My idol is and always will be the amazing Susan Lucci! She's the best, she is the one that inspired me to go into acting and anything I accomplish in my future career, she deserves all the credit for. My other favorites are Walt Willey and Vincent Irizarry. I have watched all three of them on All My Children all my life,my mom has watched since the first day and I have always watched with her,I am addicted to it and wouldn't have it any other way,the performances of these three wonderful people have gotten me through many very painful hospital stays. My ultimate dream is to work on All My Children.

I work for a local internet service provider as a Customer Service Rep. I was born in 1980 with a birth defect called Spina Bifida, but I got luckier than most with my disease. My level of severity isn't as minor as it could be but it isn't as severe as it could be either. I had 18 surgeries before the age of 17 and have had more procedures than I care to recall. lol However, I don't look on my scars as a curse, I see them as my trophies, they mean I didn't die. I am not wheelchair bound and I no longer walk with assistance, but I had leg braces until the age of ten. If your life has been touched by Spina Bifida or you would just like to learn more about it please visit my Spina Bifida Forum.

Well more to come later! :0) Thanks for visiting!

~Val~
