HISTORY
When Lars and James was thinking of replacing the bass-guitarist, Ron McGovney back in 1982 they saw a band called Trauma play at The Whiskey A Go-Go. Cliff Burton wasthe bass player in Trauma at the time and impressed James and Lars enough they wanted Cliff to join Metallica. Cliff said that he would only join Metallica if they moved to San Francisco where Cliff had been living. The Band moved to San Francisco. Cliff played with Metallica for approximately four years after that. Cliff sadly passed away in a bus accident in Sweden 1986, during the Master of Puppets tour and was replaced by Jason Newsted.
