THE INGRAL
Ingral are a race of wirey, light red scaled humanoids with prehensile toes. Their appearance is quite intriguing for humans to behold, as they share some traits with us, such as tear ducts, pupils and iris of varying color with white eye balls, four fingers and an opposable thumb (though somewhat long in comparrison), and at the same time they are quite different, lacking outer ears, with ear holes much like lizards, and lacking lips, the surface of their face smooth (scales aside)except for the flat nose ridge which is very hard to make out.
Before they developed technology they were a race of tree living people, constructing huts in the high trees of their massive forests.
During their peoples first ventures into space travel & colonization, a large colony on the planet Esho was wiped out by an alien armada (later discovered to be the Zentraedi). The Ingrals original intentions as a benevolent force, were changed forever.
This was due to the backlash caused by 1 million simultaneous Ingral deaths. Every Ingral has a weak psionic link with the rest of the race. This link is strengthend by positive emotions toward an individual or group within the race. For example, an Ingrals link is extremely strong with loved ones, but would be infinitesimal with another Ingral he just met. Note that Ingral so far have not been able to make psionic links with other races. A majority of the Ingral race felt a strong feeling of pride toward the brave souls who left their homeworld to explore space.
When the back lash of the million dead on Esho reached the homeworld, the people called for vengance and retribution! The High Council (the Ingral homeworld of Ixx is ruled by Senate Councils) was able to put aside it's emotions, but still realised what happened on Esho showed that the Ingral are vulnerable. In order to counter the threat of invasion, a military space force was to be assembled.
In 5 short years the Ingral went from a peace loving people, to a militaristic machine that ran like clockwork. They had developed a powerful fleet, new weapons technology, and specialized mecha units. Expansion was attempted again, the first target, Esho.
When the Ingral once again encountered the Zentraedi forces on Esho, it was a horrible battle. The Zentraedi were caught by suprise, the meek lambs that had been slaughtered half a decade ago had turned into a pack of blood hungry wolves. The most frightening thing was that the Ingral fought in silence, no war crys could be heard, no commands shouted, just silent assault as they took their revenge.
After a 4 month campaign, the Zentraedi for the first time in the glorious history of their race were driven off. Of course the Zentraedi who had been thrown back changed the records and claimed that it was the thrice accursed Invid who had arrived to kick them off. This all occured about 20 years before the first Robotech War.
Now in the time of the first Invid War, the Ingral are a military power determined to wipe out Zentraedi remanents (alot of them question were most of the Zentraedi have gone), to defend their people, and conquer all those who would dare threaten them.
LIFESTYLE
Forty-five percent (45%) of the Ingral race is in the Military, filling various roles for defense of planetary and space colonies, aswell as just plain kicking the crap out of anything that threatens the Ingral. The rest of the population is used in Farming & Agriculture for the purpose of supporting such a massive army. Traitors are rare and easy to seek (Just find the right person with a link to the traitor). The people live happy lives with high technology.
A note about gender seperation. Aside from reproductive & nursing organs, the Ingral have little difference between the male and female physiology. A relation is never based on sexual grounds, but instead on a certain mental compatibility that is established the first time two Ingral mates meet. Mates often enlist in the military together. Of course emotional attachment is also an unfortunate liability, as a mate will become a complete berserker if their mate is ever slain. These beserkers usually are undetainable, but in the case that they can be brought home safetly, they are usually put into the many Ingral suicide squads, their rage kept in check by special drugs until their pacification inhibitors are released.
RELIGION
The Ingral have an interesting view. As technologically advanced as they are, they have this strange belief of all things containing a spirit. From the rocks, to trees, to rivers, and even to the equipment of soldiers, they all possess a spirit that is to be respected. If a soldier properly maintains his rifle, it shall fire true, if he neglects it, it shall fire wide or misfunction.
EDUCATION
The education in Ingral society is the equivalent of the REF.

THE EIGHT ATTRIBUTES:

PSIONIC LINK: The psionic link mentioned earlier allows an Ingral to communicate telepathically with other Ingral it has developed a link with. It usually takes about 1 month of average interaction for the link to be established (more than average interaction can speed up the linking process), and after that it will never be broken (atleast no one has found out how to yet), except in death. When the person the Ingral is linked to dies, they know it, no matter where they are they will know it. The death will rack their brains, and most likely cause sadness, or in the case of the soldiers, rage. This link has no measurable range, and communicaton is instantaneous. Besides known relatives and loved ones, and Ingral would start out with one link for every point of M.A. they have.

AVAILABLE REF O.C.C.s: NONE! The Ingral have no clue (so far) of the REF or Invids existance. Instead they have their own military O.C.C.'s.
