Scott Anderson was born on March 27, 1975 in Ontario Canada. Scott went to school in Burlington. Scott's favorite bands include Our Lady Peace and The Tea Party. He and James black first started working together on a band called Stone Soul Picnic. When they joined with Scott's brother Sean, Rick Jackett and then drummer Rob Gommerman they changed the name to Rainbow Butt Monkeys and released Letters from Chutney.
After Letters from Chutney Rob Gommerman left the band and was replaced by Rich Beddoe. When the music evolved they left Mercury and needed a new name in which Scott Anderson mentioned Finger Eleven.
