It´s In The Eyes!!!!
Om Bowie´s øjne – som alle ved - har David forskelligfarvede purpiller.
Historien er kort fortalt: David (der er født med blå øjne)og bedste skolekammerat George Underwood kom op at slås i skolegården i 1962. Slagsmålet var om en pige og George Underwood rammer David´s med et slag i venstre øje med sin ring !!.
Purpillen er lammet og kan ikke udvide sig normalt ved forskellig lysstyrke
David er sygemeldt fra skolen i 8 måneder og gennemgår adskillige operationer og resultatet bliver, at Bowie´s venstre øje opleves som brunt eller grønt afhængig af det omgivende lys.
George Underwood, der stadig er særdeles aktiv, er designer og har blandt andet lavet coveret til ”Honky Dory” og ”The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And…”og det første T.Rex album. I de meget unge dage i tresserne var han gruppemedlem i David´s første band ”The King Bees”
