Fishette and myself have been playing DIABLO and DIABLO 2 for several years now. When we first started playing the game, it was the best game we had played up till that point. I will start telling about the character I have been playing and Fishette can tell about her character a little bit later in the story.
I began playing with the WARRIOR character in the first game. It was the logical progression from the character I was playing in WARCRAFT and STARCRAFT. I found playing with the WARRIOR to be very satisfying. I worked my way through the mazes under the church pretty quick. I killed DIABLO the first time and what happened after that really ticked me off. If you have played the game you know what I'm talking about.
When the expansion to the first game came out, Fishette and myself was one of the first in line to get it. hee! hee! That was the first time you could go into different levels with your character after completing the entire quest. In normal mode I didn't have to much trouble. In nightmare mode is when I started having a little bit of trouble. I had to go over in the church dungeon and level up a few times, then I went back and had no problems with the big red demon.
Some of the techniques I used during my quest that worked well for me. When moving through the tunnels, use hallways going in different directions. This will cause the monsters to run behind the wall, trying to get to you going the shortest way. Then you can pick them off one by one as they come around the wall. Also if you walk into a room that is full of creatures, just walk back out of the room and stand in the doorway and kill them one at a time as they try to get out of the door. Some of the spells I liked to use were chain lightning, the guardian, wall of fire, and in the lower levels stone curse.
Of course when DIABLO 2 came out, we preordered the collectors edition. The game picked up where the last game left off; BLIZZARD did a good job on that. I picked the next progression of my character, which was the PALADIN in the new game. In the old game I worked my character up to level 45, which I believe the highest level was 50. In the new game I have worked my character up to level 70, which I believe the highest level is 99. I have picked up some techniques in the new game also. When moving around in open fields, you will come across corners in the fence or square areas in the middle of the area. Use these corners to run behind and the monsters will group up on the other side until you go over and draw them out. If you are moving around down in one of the dungeons then use the same techniques from the first game. They work just as well here as they did before. I have played through the normal mode with no trouble at all. I played all the way through nightmare mode with no trouble until I reached the river of flame. I liked to have never got from there to the end of act 1 in hell mode. After that I really haven't had much trouble it just takes so long to level up.
I have played all the way through the expansion (Lord of Destruction) to the hell mode where I'm at now. You can transfer your character into that game from this game. The stats on my character are, armor- Godly Lacquered Plate. Defense 1262, + 133% Defense, +10 to strength. Helm- Godly Spired Helm of Restoration. Defense 414. Shield- Lidless Wall Grim Sheild. Defense 465. Sword- Cruel Dimensional Blade of Firebolts. One hand damage 55 to 142, 10% chance to cast level 4 fire bolt on attack, + 296 Enhanced Damage. Gauntlets- Gravepalm Sharkskin Gloves. Defense 101, +164% Damage to undead, +144 to attack rating against undead, +163% Enhanced Defense, +10 to strength, +10 to Energy. Belt- Plated Belt of Atlas. Defense 11, +29 to strength. Boots- Natalya's Soul Mesh Boots. Defense 117, 40% faster Run/Walk, +75 Defense, Heal Stamina +19%, Cold resist +15%, Lightning Resist +15%. Doom Heart Amulet. +5 to life, Cold Resist +46%, Lightning Resist +39%, Poison Resist +36%, Damage Reduced by 4, Magic Damage Reduced by 1. Eagle Touch Ring. +43 to Attack Rating, +9 to Strength, +52 to Dexterity, +52 to Mana, Poison Resist +12%. Plague Knot Ring. +140 to Attack Rating, +8 to Strength, +4 to Life, Cold Resist +9%, Lightning Resist +13%.
I have the following stats; strength- 233, attack damage- 184 to 508 (both hands), dexterity- 188, attack rating- 927 (both hands), defense- 2417, vitality- 107, stamina-249, life- 534, energy- 58, mana- 297, fire resistance --39, cold resistance +14, lightning resistance +17, poison resistance --18. One of the things that annoyed me about the game was everytime you went into a new mode (normal, nightmare, and hell) your resistances automatically dropped 20%. I guess they had to make it that way so it would be harder.
The spells I like use in DIABLO 2 are, Zeal on the left hand- attacks multiple adjacent enemies and I am currently at level 11. On the right hand- the one I use in the very toughest of battles like Diablo himself is thorns- reflects damage back at enemies and I am currently at level 19 working it higher for the coming battle with Diablo in hell mode. I also like to use blessed aim- increases your attack rating and I am currently at level 11. I also like to use salvation- protects against elemental damage and I am currently level 12. There are some other auras I use but those are the main ones I use. As I continue to travel through the towns of the world of DIABLO, I will keep updating this page.

DIABLO and BIABLO 2, best computer games ever! What's left to say? A lot. The difference between playing the game and the game playing you can be very simple.
For those of you who have never tried the original DIABLO, and have gone straight to DIABLO 2 you're missing a lot of fun. I have played both for years and I can tell you I never would have played 2 without having played the original. I played all the way through the levels of DIABLO, then became an avid on-line Battlenet character. I made a lot of hacker friends who showed me the ins and outs of Bobba-fett and other neat cheats that gave me armor and hit points I never even knew existed. This may sound familiar to some of you hackers out there but I knew guys who could put Diablo on any level and any room in the game not to mention I had not just "Godmode" but Diablo armor, weapons, and jewelry.
There wasn't a hacker out there who could take me down. Thanks to a very good friend of mine called Monkey Nutx. (Thanks Monkey, I miss you.)
In the original game it was all experience and hacks. You either had what it takes or you got a buddy who had what it took to get the job done. The new DIABLO is different.
The biggest difference is there are no cheats (yet). So each character is even until a higher character comes along and takes you out for gold and armor. (hehehehe I've never done that in the new game). The new game is geared more for team play. Which is ok when you're online but can be a bitch when you're playing alone in the levels of hell against bosses like Hephesto.
I don't care for the fact that you can't save a game where you are and then pick up where you left off. In the new game once you save, all the bad guys are reloaded and you start in town again. Which is great for leveling up but not so great if you were called to dinner and didn't get a chance to pick up all your gear or forgot your gold. In any case both DIABLO'S are great games to me, the best ever made but I've been playing them since they first came out and am greatly awaiting the release of the expansion of DIABLO 2.
I'll tell you this much about my character, she's an Amazon, very tough, very unforgiving. If you're one of those wussy guys who think the Amazon is easy bait to a barking Barbarian, I say bring it on baby! If your Barbarian can stand up to high level strafe and freezing arrows out the wazoo, you're better than I think you are.
Til next we meet on the trail of Diablo, I'm Fishette, good hunting. Respond to FISHETTE24179@yahoo.com.
