MY TRIBUTE TO DAISY
by MaryAnne Stevenson Thompson
During my one year of Rhema Bible College, in Perth, Western
Australia, I was fortunate enough to be introduced to a group of
ladies from Adelaide, Australia.
They were promoting a Women's Ministry, and planning a conference in
their city that year in 1989, I was invited to come along. The guest
speaker was to be Dr. Daisy Washburn Osborn, unknown to me. The title
of the conference intrigued me it was "Women, be free!" So I planned
to get there.
When I walked into the building little did I know that this was
going to be a life-changing experience. The guest speaker, walked
onto the platform and delivered a message which I will never forget,
she shared of the Love of Jesus, and how He was not condemning me for
being female. That there was neither no male or female in Christ
Jesus.
Well that may not be any real revelation to any of you reading this.
But to me, having been involved in religious teaching and dogmatic
leadership, which not only flatly refused to recognise me as
prophet/apostle, they also were very patronising about my zeal and
fervour for the Lord and the vision He had given me.
I learnt from this dear lady of God, that I didn't have to remain in
an abusive relationship, I didn't have to be bound by a marriage that
was no longer "a marriage" but a broken house, with no foundation. I
was totally liberated, and blessed with the word that truly did make
me free. (Jesus said "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall
set you free").
The rest is history and you can visit my home page to find out the
result of this life changing conference and the fruit of it.
That was 10 years ago......who was this women of God?
Daisy Osborn,
became my mentor, she became my friend, she became my helper, in that
she unselfishly gave me material in which to build a ministry to
women.
I had in my hands two video schools. (which I believe are
still available, and please try to get them from the Osborn Ministry).

She was an international speaker, and yet she profoundly amazed me by
her personal communication with me, even today, my eyes fill up with
tears when I think about her. She touched my life in a way that will
always be dear to me. She has gone to be with the Lord, and sincerely
I would like to still have her in my life. Such was her effect
on me, and my love for her.
It is an honor to write this short testimony of how Daisy Washburn
Osborn touched my heart and life. Her life lives on in me, and in
other women and men who have been truly blessed by the truth that she
so unselfishly shared with other, enabling it to become their truth also.
I LOVE YOU DAISY!! MaryAnne
