"Phantom of Venice" |
May 2001 Media: graphite, digital |
A follow-up to "The Phantom of Las Vegas" and the beginning of a series of illustrations I call Regionalizing Phantom. This piece takes the iconic boat scene and transports it to modern-day Venice, turning The Phantom into a gondolier and Christine into an eager tourist. This particular version is a cropped image of the original which extended to about twice its present length and included the rest of the gondola. I chose to crop it so the characters details were more defined. Inspired by a trip to The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. |
