Lone Star Fondue
Ingredients
   2 round, firm loaves of bread (1 1/2 pounds, 8-10 inches in diameter)
   4 tablespoons vegetable oil
   2 tablespoons butter, melted
   1 1/2 cups sour cream
   8 ounces sharp Cheddar Cheese, grated
   1 8oz package cream cheese, softened
   1 cup ham, diced & cooked (3 ounces)
   1/2 cup green onions, chopped
   1 4oz can green chilies, drained & chopped
   1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
Directions
- Slice off the top of one of the bread loaves and hollow out the insides with a small paring knife, leaving a half inch shell. Cut removed bread into 1 inch cubes.
- Take other loaf and hollow out also, cut removed bread into 1 inch cubes as well.
- In a large skillet, combine oil and melted butter. Add the bread cubes and stir until thoroughly coated.
- Place bread cubes on a cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown. Remove from oven and reserve to serve with the fondue.
- In a large bowl, combine sour cream, Cheddar and cream cheeses.
- Stir in ham, green onions, chilies and Worcestershire sauce.
- Spoon cheese into hollowed bread, filling it. Replace the top of the bread.
- Wrap loaf of filled bread with several layers of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Set loaf on a cookie sheet.
- Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until cheese filling is melted and heated through.
- When bread is done remove the wrap and place on a serving dish with the bread cubes placed around it for dipping.
