Naughty Christmas Gifts -- Clever and YUMMY!

Gifts in a jar have come a long way since the standard layered cake or cookie mix. I have seen cake bake in a jar, these you bake the cake right in the jar!!! Craft in a jar and even prayers in a jar. I hope you will find one of the following gift ideas useful in your gift giving this Holiday season.

1. My famous Triple-Fudge Brownie Mix (this is my all time winner, my neighbors and friends want this every year)

Ingredients:

2 cups sugar
1 cup cocoa (not the Dutch process kind)
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup of walnuts (if desired) -- hint ask if someone is allergic before adding nuts or better yet place in a ziplock and add on top of mixture if you are unsure.
1 cup of chocolate chips
1 jar of triple fudge frosting

Mix all ingredients and store in an airtight container.

Attach these instructions to the jar.

Tip: use online free to print for personal use recipe cards http://www.graphicgarden.com http://www.countryclipart.com http://www.bakingabusiness.com/recipes/recipecards/cards.htm http://alenkasprintables.com/recipe_cards.shtml This site has an online type your recipe program free to use, you pick the pattern, type in your recipe, put in the card stock in your printer and out comes your recipe card with cute graphics and no errors.

Preheat overn to 325 degrees. Grease a 12x9 inch pan. In a large bowl of an electric mixer, cream butter. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the brownie mix and continue to beat the mixture until it is smooth. Spread the mixture into the greased pan, and bake 40 - 50 minutes.

Cool down completely. Frost with the frosting.

Mades 24 brownies.

Enjoy!

The next Gift in a Jar is really not naughty but rather is something I came up with 3 years ago when trying to come up with a way to stop the Boredom blues in my home.

You will need the following items:

1. 1 quart jar
2. Microsoft Word Business Card template
3. Graphics or Stickers
4. List of Boredum Busters(http://www.mommie-care.com/bordemjar.html)
5. Scissors
6. Paint or material to decorate jar
7. Print out each item on cards, decorate with gifs or stickers (get the kids involved)
8. Place completed cards, folded up in half, inside jar
9. When you here I'm bored they need to go to the jar and pick out an activity to do. Continues until the "I'm bored is not repeated"
10. Nice cup of herbal tea, book, soft music, RELAX.

I hope you enjoy these two rather unique gift giving ideas. Remember the Triple Chocolate is something that should be a once a year treat. It will "kill" you otherwise.

Enjoy!
