Christmas Gift Wrap Ideas

*Fill basket with
Cellophane grass

*Basket liner:
1. Measure basket from rim to rim and cut fabric circle 1/2" bigger.
2. Finish top edge of fabric.
3.Lay fabric right-side up in basket. Pleat to fit.
4. Hot glue fabric onto basket

*Fabric cover
1. Measure basket from rim-to-rim.
2. Multiply measurement by 1 1/2.
3. Cut out fabric circle this dimension
4. Place basket on top of wrong side of fabric and pull up fabric.
5. Attach rubber band at rim over fabric
6. Stuff between fabric and basket with fiber fill
7. Cover rubber band with ribbon, raffia, yarn, etc.

*Sponge paint basket
Dip a dampen sponge into paint, remove excess paint on paper towel. Use light stamping motion to paint with.

*Splatter finish
Apply sealer and let dry. Apply basecoat of paint. Let dry. Thin accent paint. Splatter on colors. Occasionally splattering some basecoat paint.

*Wood stain
Apply stain with small brush. Let partially dry and wipe off excess with lint-free cloth

Food gifts

*Apothecary jars for home made candies

*For baked goods cross stitch a saying on a corner of a napkin. Line basket with it. Place baked goods on top.

*Jams and jellies. Place in wooden crate. Stencil a saying on the side.

*Buy pretty plates and bowls at garage sales. Use for cookies and other baked goods.

*Casserole. Purchase plastic 9 x 13" covered casserole dish. Cut a piece of fabric and poster board to fit inside of rim of lid. Apply spray adhesive to wrong side of fabric smooth over poster board. Apply to casserole lid using double sided tape.

*Mixes. Decorated jars or fabric bags

*Tea mixes. Teapots or tea cups

Baking or cooking items. Personalize canvas apron with fabric paint. Fill pockets with goodies.

Plastic boat for summer-related items

Cowboy or Western theme. Tie with bandana and place in straw cowboy hat.

Cookies frozen
Wrap in plastic wrap and place in covered potato chip can

Oatmeal container covered with wrapping paper

Place in fabric covered boxes

Pasta. Place items in a strainer

Wrap food items in cellophane, colored cling wrap or shrink wrap

Boxes

*Pizza box. Unused box. Measure and cut out pieces of paper to fit each side of box. Using spray glue apply to box.

*Dissemble a box. Lay onto piece of fabric. Mark fabric 1/2" from the sides. Cut out fabric. Spread tacky glue onto right side of box. Lay fabric over and smooth excess to inside. Cut off extra fabric. Reassemble box.

*Paint the box with acrylic paint and stencil or stamp on a design.

*Decoupage a picture to the box. Cut out a picture from a magazine or card.

*Decorate box with lace, dollies, pinecones, silk flowers, jewelry, ribbons, and/or buttons
