•Don't rush out and start buying more furniture and organizers right now. Wait a week or two so you can make a list of what you and your family are using the room for
e.g. watching Tv, homework, mending, bill paying, sleeping, etc. Also make a list of problems e.g. lost shoes, no room for jeans, etc.
• Look through your list and decide what activities need moved elsewhere and what activities you need to make storage space for. Develop a plan to address the problems you noted.
•Make a list of what items you need handy to do the various activities the room is used for.
•And finally, how you are going to store them. See Creating Beautiful Storage Space
- Where None Exists! for ideas.
•Add to your list items that need replaced e.g. sheets, lamp shades, pillows, etc.
•Make a budget for these items.
*Keep working on getting this small space functional for you or your family.
