PLOT
The story follows William Blake as he's on a train to Dickinson. He has a job to become an accountant. He spent every last penny of his parent's inheritance to get there. When he arrives, he gets told that the job has been given to someone else.
In a depressed stupor, William wanders over to the local bar and buys a bottle of booze. While he's sitting outside and drinking it, he notices Thel. She's getting thrown in the mud by some guy that's calling her a whore. He runs over to help her up. She invites him over to her place and they end up spending the night together.
In the morning, Thel's boyfriend comes and sees William in the bed. In rage, he shoots Thel. William grabs the gun that Thel keeps under the pillow and shoots him. He runs off, only to find that the bullet went through Thel, into him.
He comes to later, when Nobody is filling his wounds with dirt. Mistaking him for the dead poet, William Blake, Nobody agrees to help him.
William finds out that he is wanted for the deaths of Thel and her boyfriend and that three men are after him to kill him.
After killing a few people that managed to track him down, he leaves on a canoe, only to witness Nobody and Cole Wilson shoot each other. Everybody that travels with William ends up dieing.
