Bloody Valentine This is inspired by Good Charlotte's 'My Bloody Valentine': Oh, my love Please don't cry I'll wash my bloody hands and We'll start a new life I ripped out His throat And called you on the telephone To take off My disguise Just in time to hear you cry when you... You mourn the death of your bloody valentine The night he died You mourn the death of your bloody valentine One last time Oh, my love Please don't cry I'll wash my bloody hands and We'll start a new life I don't know much at all I don't know wrong from right All I know is that I love you tonight There was Police and Flashing lights The rain came down so hard that night and the Headlines read A lover died No tell-tale heart was left to find when you... He dropped you off, I followed him home Then I, I stood outside his bedroom window Standing over him, he begged me not to do What I knew I had to do cause I'm so in love with you February 14, 2003- Valentine's Day "Hey, Orli? This is Vig." "Hey. How's it going?" "Good, good. How bout you?" "Yea, I'm good…Listen Vig, if you wanted to talk about the other day-" "No. I am fine with what happened the other day. Nothing to talk about." "Viggo, I'm sorry." "What for? Living your life? Falling in love? Nothing to apologize for, love." "Vig, please don't call me that." "What?" "Love." "It's completely platonic, Orli. I didn't mean anything by it." "I'm not so sure about that, Vig. I'm not sure you fully understand that we aren't together anymore." "I told you. I understand. I'm over it." "Are you?" "Fuck, Orli! I said I was!" "Okay, I'm sorry." "It's alright…what are you doing tonight?" "…I dunno…" "Want to go out to dinner? It's Valentine's Day. We can have a glass of wine or something." "I don't think I can, Viggo. I am having company over for Valentine's Day." "Who?" "Pardon?" "Who's coming?" "That's kind of rude, Viggo. What does it matter?" "Dom? Elijah? Who is it?" "Viggo." "You gonna fuck him tonight?" "VIGGO." "Oh, God forbid that I want to fucking know who my lover is having sex with!" "Viggo, I'm not your lover." "Who is it!?" "Elijah." "Going for younger men?" "Viggo. Please. Don't." "Don't what?" "I have to go…" "Fine. Happy Valentine's Day, love." "Viggo…" "Ik zal van u altijd houden. En ik zal me ervan u dat nooit vergewissen vergeet. Huil niet wanneer u je les leert." "Fine." Orlando hung up the phone. Bastard. It didn't matter because Elijah was coming over tonight. He had been seeing Orlando for the past week. And for once, Orlando felt safe. When he was with Viggo, he felt so small, so subordinate. He was scared. He had no control of the situation. But now, he was safe. So eventually Elijah came over. "Viggo called again?" Elijah would always ask. "Yes." "What'd he say?" "Something in Dutch." "Oh…" Then they forgot about it. Then, they fucked, of course. After cleaning up, they went out to dinner. Orlando had totally forgotten about Viggo's call. Or calls. Viggo called everyday, asking Orlando out to lunch or something like that. He always pried. He always interrogated. Orlando dropped Elijah off at his house and drove home a happy man. He had had an excellent Valentine's Day with the man he loved. He drove home and fell asleep, eagerly waiting for the next time he'd see Elijah. ~*~*~*~ February 15, 2003 Orlando opened his eyes groggily. The phone was ringing. He picked it up and put his mouth the the receiver. "Hello?" "Orli? This is Dom. Have you heard?" "Heard what? Dom, what's wrong." "Oh my God, Orli…turn on the news." "Ok…" Orlando picks up his remote and turns on the television. The new anchor flicks her hair then proceeds with her story. "In today's top headlines: Last night actor Elijah Wood was brutally murdered. He was found this morning in his bedroom. No suspects have been caught yet. Wood was only 22 years old. He played the character Frodo in the box-office smash, The Lord of the Rings. The third installment is set to hit theatres this December. No comment was given from director Peter Jackson." Orlando dropped the remote. Images of Elijah flashed on the screen. Sounds of his voice rang through Orlando's head. "Orli? Orli? Can you hear me?" Dom was calling from the phone. "Dom…I have to-" he lost it. He starting sobbing hysterically. He let the phone fall to the floor. He collapsed on his bed and wept. Elijah was gone. Forever… ~*~*~*~ February 14, 2004 Valentine's Day It had been a whole year. Orlando went and visited Elijah's grave frequently. He had taken a break from acting for a few months. There had been press conferences, interviews and even a memorial service that was broadcast on MTV. But Orlando didn't care. He still missed him. But missing someone shouldn't mean that one can't move on. Orlando was now dating Dom. Dom had comforted him through the hard times and in the process had fallen in love. Eyes rolled, and comments were said, but the two needed each other. To comfort one another. To hold the other on the long nights where they could only think of Elijah. They hadn't found the killer. "Orlando?" "This is him." "Morning. This is Vig." "Morning." "How are you doing? Are you okay?" "Yea…I just miss him." "I understand. Listen, are you doing anything today?" "I'm not sure. I want to go visit him." "Well it's Valentine's Day, so how bout I take you to go visit him then we go out for a drink?" "That'd be nice, Viggo, but Dom already offered to drive me." "Is he coming over after?" "He might. Why?" "No reason…I miss you Orlando." "Pardon?" "We don't see each other as much as we used to. I feel as if you are avoiding me." "I'm not. I've just been busy. Packing Elijah's stuff, and moving him out." "And moving Dom in." "Well…yea. I mean he is having just as rough a time as I am." "Do you think I'm not?" "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that." "Want to make it up to me?" "Depends. Can't involve sex." "Ha. Alright. Just how bout after you and Dom go visit Lij, you stop by my place and we'll all go out to eat?" "Alright, We'll see you then." "Happy Valentine's Day." "Not so happy." "Right. I'll see you, Orli." "Bye, Vig." Orlando hung up the phone, and at that moment Dom arrived. He was still living in his own house, but was in the midst of moving into Orli's. They went and visited Elijah. They laughed and told him how well the movie was doing, and that his new action figure was dead sexy. Then they cried and told him how much they missed him. Then they grew angry and told him they hadn't found the killer yet…but they would. After all of this, they went to Viggo's and headed out to a restaurant. After they ate, Viggo offered to drive Orlando home, but Orli went with Dom. Dom dropped Orli off and drove home. It had been another long day without Elijah. ~*~*~*~ February 15, 2004 "Police! Open up!" Orli woke to the sounds of rapping on the door an shouts from outside. He got up and walked over to the door. Two police men were standing outside. Memories came flooding back. He started to panic. "Mr. Bloom?" He nodded. "We have some bad news to tell you." Orli already knew. He didn't need to hear it. He fell to his knees and started crying. Between sobs and visions of Dom, he could hear the police explaining. "We think it's the same guy who killed Mr. Wood last year. Do you know anyone who would want to hurt them? We talked to a Mr. Mortensen this morning and he said he knew that Mr. Wood and Mr. Monaghan had had past experiences with threats. Do you remember that?" "Yes…" he croaked. Billy ran into Orli's apartment and ran over to the couch he was sitting on. He held Orli in his arms and started crying. "Orli? Are you alright?" he sobbed into Orli's shirt. "…not again…" ~*~*~*~ February 14, 2005 Valentine's Day Knocking. Orli hated waking up to knocking. It was always a bad sign. He got up and dragged his feet to the door. Viggo was standing in the doorway. "How's it going, kiddo?" "Kiddo? That's a new one." "Seriously, how ya doing?" "I miss them." "Me too." "Billy came over last night. We cried." "I sat home. Alone. And I cried." "…oh…" "I wish you would forget about our past. I wish you would let me in again. I'm not a bad guy." "I know. It's just…anything…you bring back memories." "What kind?" "Painful." "Oh. Why don't you let me change that?" "I'm sorry, Vig. I haven't been fair to you." Orlando collapsed in Viggo's arms. He let Viggo hold him as he cried. "It's alright. Ik zal van u altijd houden. En ik zal me ervan u dat nooit vergewissen vergeet. Huil niet wanneer u je les leert." Orlando stopped sobbing. Viggo had said that to him the day Elijah was killed. Orlando tried not to throw up. It was Viggo. He knew Viggo had done it. He slipped out of the embrace and headed to the bathroom. "Be back in a sec, Vig." "Alright, love." Orlando stood in his bathroom. He snuck out of the bathroom into his bedroom. He fished through his sock drawer. He had a gun in it. Elijah had made him buy it, warning him that because he was such a sexy new celebrity, it might come in handy. He stuck it in his back pocket and walked back into the front room. "Ik zal van u altijd houden. En ik zal me ervan u dat nooit vergewissen vergeet. Huil niet wanneer u je les leert." "What the fuck does that mean, Vig?" "Do you really want to know?" "Yes…" Orli stuck his hands behind his back and placed a shaking hand on the gun. "It means; I will always love you. And I will make sure you never forget that." Orlando took a step closer to Viggo. " and 'Don't cry when you learn your lesson.' " Viggo smiled. "What?" "Did you learn your lesson?" Viggo started walking towards Orlando. Orlando panicked and pulled the gun out. "Viggo, you killed them." "I know." "Why?" "If I couldn't have you, why should those little faggots get you?" "Viggo…" Orlando walked closer to Viggo. "Aw…Orli's got a gun. You gonna shoot me? Shoot your first love? Your real love?" "I never loved you. I loved Elijah." "And Dom? Face it, Orli, you're just a whore." Viggo started to move towards Orlando. He stepped back as Viggo approached. Viggo lunged at him and Orlando felt himself pull the trigger. He dropped the gun as Viggo fell. He stood in shock over Viggo's dead body. "Hebt u je les geleerd?" Orlando asked, walking out the door. "Dag van gelukkige Valentine, Viggo." THE END/ HET EINDE note: At the end Orlando says 'Did you learn your lesson?' and 'Happy Valentine's Day, Viggo.'
