In June, 2005 the Illinois Department of Transportaions opened a 9.2 mile section of expressway southwest of Jacksonville. This was a extention of the U.S. Rt. 67 expressway on the westside of Jacksonville. When this was opened U.S. Rt. 67 was pulled off of IL St Rt 267 from I-72/U.S. Rt. 36 to near Murrayville.
