U.S. Rt. 34 is not multi-plexed in De Kalb County. In Sandwich, U.S. Rt. 34 was re-routed out of the downtown area several years back. On the east side of town there is a "S" Curve with a intersection in the middle of it. At this intersection there is westbound Rt. 34 off and eastbound Rt. 34 off only.
One street is still called "Old Rte. 34". Signs found on the streets near the intersection described above.
