De Kalb County

The De Kalb County Highway System was established in 1914. The first cement highway was laid near Malta. The Lincoln Highway was paved across the county in 1920. Signs were first installed in 1929. Annie Glidden Road (DKCH 5) opened in 1937. The De Kalb County Highway Department maintains 201 miles of highway. The county highway numbers were discovered on the maps located on the site listed above. Several roads under the jurisdiction of the De Kalb County Highway Department were unable to be decided. Those were Coltonville Road, East County Line Road, Rollo Road, South County Line Road, Five Points Road, Lindenwood Road, and Second Street Road.
