Fishing tales...fishing was slow for most boats but as usual Bob's guiding did not fail. We caught 4 different kinds of fish. More bass then ever before as well as pike, perch and walleye. Dad won the weekend derby and Pilks won second! His best standing yet. My dad caught the biggest Northern I have ever seen.

 
Thursday night closed with some wormin'. The weather was rainy and the ground wet. Pilk's discovered it was harder to catch worms than he thought. He ended up holding the flashlight and bucket for Uncle Dave.

Friday was a day of a lot of drinking. A good warm up for the weekend.

 
Jim drank his back pain away and then the fishing began.

Once we convinced him to allow it in the boat he thought he might as well hold it up. We tried to measure it too but it was longer than our tape. That means 3+ feet easily.

  Following tradition we had a double birthday celebration for Paul Joy and Grandma Burnside.

 
Alexis got fooled by her dad's suggestion to smell the flowers on the cake. Fits of giggles followed.
The winners board proudly displays the derby winners for the weekend.

The Long Weekend in September brings to a close another fishing season for most of the fishermen at Pine Point. For those that fish longer...no problem but the derby ends here. A feast and awards presentation marks the day.
