Here is a dance that never really had a name.
It was just called "Slow Dance".
Remember those school dances in the 1950's
and 1960's? For many, the goal was by the end
of the night, you would find that special someone
to dance to the slow music that was played for
the last dance.
There were no real steps. The girl would place
her left arm on the boys shoulder, and with her
right arm bent upwards, hold the boys left hand.
The boys' right arm would be around the girls
waist, and they would step in time to the music.
Some went home after the dance with stars in
their eyes, and some (not so lucky enough to find
a partner) would go home with hopes for dancing
the slow dance with that special someone at the
next dance.
