Home Fried Fish



This is easy and quick to prepare. It is just like cooking home fried potatoes, and adding your favorite fillet of fish. The flavor of the potato and the onion cook through the fish, and this can be served with eggs, and it's not bad for breakfast.


1 fish fillet about 1/4 inch in thickness
1/4 cup finely chopped yellow onions
1 large white potato
1/4 teaspoon lemon pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil

Step 1. Chop your onions.

Step 2. Wash potato removing eyes, and cutting out any blemishes leaving the skin on .

Step 3. Start heating olive oil in a cast iron skillet at a medium heat

Step 4. Put paper towels on the work area and with a shredder shred the potato over the paper towels After shredding the potato. Place another paper towel on top, and pat off the excess moister.

Step 5. Pick up ½ the potatoes and place it in the pan spreading it too about the size of your fish and put ½ of the onions on top.

Step 6. Place fish on top and sprinkle with lemon pepper. Add the remainder of the onions. Cap it with the remainder of the potatoes.

Step 7. Brown both sides turning once. To a deep golden brown the edges will be crisp when done

One serving

Do not shred the potatoes ahead of time or add lemon juice to the potatoes this breaks down the starch and it won't have a crisp outer layer. Shred the potato just at the moment of cooking for best results.
