As I pack up my belongings
I start to get melencoly
going through the photographs
of my children, my family, and my dog Holly.
Thirty years of caring and nurturing
each child and each flower
I look back with pride how they've grown
everyday and every hour.
It's time for me to move on now
And although I shed some tears,
I don't regret the life I've had
and the treasures I hold so dear.
I close the door now and open another
to a life that is so new.
I hug my children, my sisters, and brothers
and I tell them not to feel so blue.
This will be a new start for me
I'll plant a new garden
and fish in the sea
I'll welcome new friends
and the old ones too
And hope that my family
will visit me too.
