Waterfalls
It's strange that when I see the rain
I often grumble and complain.
Yet, to see a waterfall
I've walked for miles, didn't grumble at all.
In the Neath Valley, a beautiful sight
Though I wouldn't like to be there at night:
Deep wooded gorges and cliffs so tall
Down through the centre the waters fall.
High in the mountains the rivers begin,
Starting at first from an underground spring,
Down through the woodlands the waters flow,
Creating the falls in the valley below.
Names that tourists find hard to say.
some come from many miles away.
Strangely, people who live quite near
Do not always visit there.
When they have a holiday
The local people go away.
I would not go to a foreign land
With such beauty close at hand.
Pryddyn and Mellte the rivers which flow
From the hills to the valley below,
Scwd-y-eira falls you can walk beneath,
All in the beautiful Vale of Neath.
