1. Calculator-Clever

Here's some number magic to show your friends! Ask a friend to think of a number up to 5 digits, and key it into a calculator - without showing you.

Then ask you friend to follow these steps:

1. Multiply by 5

2. Plus 25

3. Multiply by 5

4. Plus 35

5. Multiply by 4

Now ask the calculator, with the final figure still on display.

The work is up to you!

Subtract 640 from the total.

Remove the last 2 digits and you will have found the very number your friend thought of!

2. Magic Numbers

Challenge your friends to make eight 8s total 1000. It isn't at all easy if you don't have the solution shown below. (Ignore the stars before the 8s)
