68-69 CHEVELLE JACKING INSTRUCTIONS DECAL
Here is another project where I was approached by some fellow enthusiasts
upset about the current reproduction not being accurate at all.
I want to thank fellow hobbyist Phil for pictures of his original.
My buddy Shaun deserves a lot of credit here for his software magic.
My research revealed there are three current different reproductions for the
68-69 Chevelle Jack Decal. Two aren't even close, while the other isn't too bad.
Here are the observations we’ve made regarding the current closest
reproduction of the 69 Jack Decal. Comparison pictures below.
- No White border around the Black at top.
- Font styles all wrong, particularly noticeable on "J" and "C".
- Spacing and alignment problems in wordings for "Wheel Removal",
"Jack Location" and "Jack Operation".
- All the lettering in the diagrams is too small.
- No colon (:) after AT in "Jack Operation" wording.
- Only a "single" line of bumper outline under "Bumper Bolt"
rather than two lines.
Some of these differences are very noticeable, while others are more subtle.
However, it is the little things that make the difference between "correct" and "so-so".
Our product has addressed all these issues.
These are available on plain paper like the original (you apply the glue) or with peel off
backing for ease of application. Price is $8.00 each which includes shipping.
