The "Spice Jem" Videos!
Hasbro buys Galoob! The toy company that created the Jem dolls, Hasbro, bought the toy company Galoob, along with the rights of the Spice Girls dolls. It hasn't been mentioned how the trademarks infringements by the Spice Girls with the Spice Girls dolls by Galoob were handled. But since Hasbro is the only part that has taken any action in the direction of a solution, the trademarks infringements are not only a fact, but still current.

It's no wonder Jem & the Holograms can't get back to
business as long as the Spice Girls got their clothes,
and hair, and the new group stole their name. But atleast now the original Jem has
been re-released on video. Even if the companies Hasbro, Sunbow Productions or Sony which have the rights to Jem,
haven't taken legal action against the Spice Girls, they certainly aren't completely
asleep. Jem is now available on DVD.
The similarities between the groups, don't only exist on this site.
The people at the Swedish video company Film Factory are also attentive. They re-released three videos of the Jem cartoon in Europe, with the title "Spice Jem" on the boxes. It will draw double attention to Jem. Seems like a clever way to acknowledge the similarities and earn money while doing so.
