NOTE: Although this is a site about the Spice Girls, and not a very serious matter, it is only intended to contain correct facts and information. Much of which is already well known by many people through the media.

After all the similarities of the Spice Girls and the cartoon Jem, it would already seem like more than enough. But it doesn't stop at that.

Jimmy Gulzar, was one of the dancers of the Spice Girls only world tour "Spice World" in 1998. He is also the man Melanie B married in September 1998, had a child with in February 1999, and then divorced after only 16 months of marriage. For some reason they chose to bring their arguments up in the media. Melanie B wrote negative lyrics about Gulzar, in a song on her solo album, and released it as a single.

After the tour life, Gulzar knew everything about how the Spice Girls work, and has alot of connections in the music business. He then formed a new group called "Jem", which consisted of his new girlfriend, the blonde gymworker who goes by the name Emily Friendship, and two other girls, Mari Baade and Jae Jefferson. The new group was signed to the record company Jive Records, recorded six tracks, and their first single was expected to be released in the spring. A source at the record company reported to newspapers that "their looks beat the Spice Girls even before makeup", and that "they feel extremely confident that they have a big act in their hands".

Could the Spice Girls have known about the existence of the cartoon Jem all along? And somewhere along the line Jimmy Gulzar seems to have found out. It is however unclear what Gulzar's motive was for starting this new girlgroup. Was it suppose to be a revenge against the Spice Girls?

Imagine if this new singing girlgroup called "Jem" had reached the popularity where they get dolls made of themselves, what would the dolls be called?

Why the name "Jem"?

The name of this new group is apparently formed by the first letter of each of the three members first names. But the name "Jem" does not exist as a word, and does not have any meaning. That makes it very unusual compared to an existing word. A similar word that actually does exist, is "Gem", which means gemstone, jewel, or pearl.

If they really needed to form the group's name by their first names letters, they could have formed it several other ways. Like "Mej" which would be a better choice since it sounds like the month "May" or the word "maybe". Or why not "Ejm" which sounds like the word "aim".

It would be very interesting to hear this new group "Jem" explain why they came to be a group, how they came up with the name "Jem", and if they have any at all experience in the business. The fact that this new group called "Jem" actually has connections to the Spice Girls, is an extremely weird "coincidence", and we're starting to get used to those by now.
