Formed in Los Angeles, California around 1975 by vocalist Kevin DuBrow(born Oct.29,1955), drummer Drew Forsyth(born May 14,1956 in Hollywood,California), bassist Kelly Garni(born Oct.29,1957 in Hollywood, California) and guitarist Randy Rhoads(born Dec.6,1956 in Burbank, California). The group began to record music in 1978 with their debut album, on the Columbia Record label, entitled "Quiet Riot". This was then followed by "Quiet Riot II" in 1979. Shortly there after, they lost their main attraction, Randy Rhoads, to Ozzy Osbourne's band. Rhoads would later die in a plane crash in March of 1982. The band consequently split up, then regrouped in 1982 with the addition of bassist Rudy Sarzo, drummer Frankie Banali, and guitarist Carlos Cavazo. In 1983, they released the #1 hit and heavy metal classic "Mental Health". They followed this up in the summer of 1984 with the album "Condition Critical", which in itself was a little anemic. It was beginning to appear that the group would not carry on with the success that they acheived from "Mental Health". So after the release of "QR III" in 1986, and "Quiet Riot" in 1988, the group, again disbanded. Kevin DuBrow would later resurrect the name in 1993 to tour and record an LP.
