Rage
Against the Machine was rage's self titled debut cd which came out
all the way back in Nov. 10, 1992. This cd has a guest appearance by Maynard
Keenan of TOOL, and also features some of ratm's most famous songs, i.e.
Bombtrack, Killing in the Name, Freedom . Rage is on Sony's label, Epic,
despite the fact that Atlantic records circulated copies of ratm's first
2 songs. Most likely ratm had nothing to do with this.
Evil
Empire was RATM's long awaited second cd which made its first appearance
in April 16, 1996. The first songs to be released on this album were People
of the Sun, and Bulls on Parade. Before this, a few songs from the new
album (Year of tha boomerang & Tire me) were released on the Higher
Learning soundtrack.
There
is a huge gap between Evil Empire and their next cd, the Battle of Los
Angeles, so ratm released their home video (which shouldn't really
be in the discography section but who carez) and also the single, The
Ghost of Tom Joad, a Bruce Springstein cover. In 1998 ratm also released
NO SHELTER off the Godzilla Soundtrack. SonyJapan also released a LIVE
& RARE cd: half live, half rare.
Finally,
on November 2, 1999 Rage released it's third masterpiece The Battle
Of Los Angeles,
like their 2 previous cds it was produced by Brendan
O'Brien and the bassist Tim Commerford changed his name. The first songs
to be released were Guerrilla Radio and Testify. Before this, ratm played
some new songs at Woodstock 99, including Maria and Born of a Broken Man.
