GIG NUMBER SIX
Who
Dodgy themselves though were clearly past their peak, and it was only the quality of some of their songs that stopped the set from being a waste of time. Original members Matthew Priest and Andy Miller provided a forceful presence but the new guy just didn't seem that good, making you yearn for Nigel. Highlights included Stayin' Out For The Summer, Crossroads and Grassman, but Good Enough was a criminal omission, probably because the new guy couldn't handle the vocals. As far as I'm aware, most of the other hits were played, but I don't remember them now. I'm glad I saw them but wish I'd done so when they were at their peak.

My first small-scale gig, and quite an anti-climax after the previous five. An opportunity to see Dodgy, even without singer Nigel Clark, was one I couldn't resist though! It was probably just about my first real visit to a pub as well, making it quite a special occasion. After finding the venue upstairs we got a place at the front, being surprised to see no barrier or even a clamour to get a good position! After drummer Mathew Priest came onstage to say hello to everyone, we saw duo Moses open with a nice enough set. They cracked loads of jokes and didn't seem to be taking the music side of things too seriously, but this still made them better than most supports.
