GIG NUMBER TWENTY-FOUR
Who
Time goes by but Shed Seven always remained the same. And why complain about that? Shed Seven are always a safe bet for a good indie night out and the world would hardly be a better place if we all liked what we are told is currently in vogue. To not listen to an act after they're popular is to admit that they were never worth it in the first place! So the band were pretty good, the crowd had fun, and we all sang along very happily. It wasn't as good as V99 but was certainly far more fun than the fashionable Strokes would have been. Disco Down was tragically moved to the middle of the set when it should have stayed as the opener as at V, and Chasing Rainbows was its typically uplifting self at the end. Getting Better was also excellent, and being at the front and getting to say "it's getting better" down the mic made it even greater! I remember this gig being good but I must have been particularly tired as there's very little else I can recall. I suppose it's safe to assume that She Left Me On Friday caused the insanity you'd expect it to though, and I'd very much enjoyed myself!

Comments
Shed Seven are pretty hard to explain, delivering straightforward indie music, but with such passion you've gotta love 'em. Their V99 set was something quite special and I wanted to experience it all over again. It was with this thought and the hope of a good sing-along that I decided on this night out. Sonar are one of the few bands I literally can't remember anything about: therefore it seems safe to say that they were forgettable!! Gloss were only so-so but redeemed themselves by handing out a free T-shirt to me: albeit one far too small for any normal person to fit in! According to the first comment I've found online they were "fronted by an Icelandic Olivia Newton-John fan and backed by Scousers," which is probably all that needs to be said.
