So bang on the hour of twelve
To the forest clearing we'll delve
With guns to our heads for we know
That heaven awaits us
Dreaming of that perfect home by the sun
Run! Christian, run!
Still dreaming of that perfect home by the sun
Run! Christian, run!
Roaming
Roaming from all tribulation
Leaving
Leaving behind all damnation
With women and children in line
The men will then gather behind
With knives to their throats they'll depart
On the midnight train to Jordan
Still dreaming of that perfect home by the sun
Run! Christian, run!
Wishing for that perfect home by the sun
Come! Kingdom, come!
Oooooh...
Quote (Gruff on ringsaroundtheworld.co.uk):
"Bunf had a spate of being logged onto the internet most of the time, and he got heavily into doomsday cult websites, as an observer, not a participator. He printed out quite a lot of essays by these nutters, and I wrote the lyrics from there. And also when we were on tour in America we watched a lot of Christian television shows, the sort where preachers say 'It's not your money, its God's money, so send in your cheques!' Cian had demo'd a repetitive theme with this loop that became the intro and outro, and I added a country rock verse, by which time Bunf had learnt the pedal steel. Bunf found the title and I started singing it on top of Cian's demo. Again we fancied ourselves as a vocal band. We approached one of the more interesting websites to do the film. The Ministry Of Truth are a couple called Armand Geddyn and his wife 'Malibu' Barbie Geddyn. It's quite a critical website, critical of organised religion. It's a heavy song, and you need Armand Geddyn for a heavy song!"

Ministry Of Truth (Dr. Armand Geddyn and Dr. Barbie Geddyn) - The Ministry Of Truth were discovered whilst researching material for Rings Around the World on the Internet. The band came across a cult checklist banner belonging to the MiniTru, and were suitably intrigued. First attempts to contact the head of the organisation Dr Barbi Geddyn were difficult. Gruff, front man for the band, managed to get through to the man himself, only to be told that he wasn't at home and therefore the conversation they were having over the phone wasn't happening. The film is based on a series of quotes and factual excerpts from Christian history and is considered amongst some to be controversial, however the underlying message is a simple one, a free mind thinks for itself and does not rely on what history and those in power tell it to believe. The Geddyns are presently encamped deep in the American Bible Belt, suffused in Pornological Research and the Leisure Sciences. The Geddyns' religious and academic foundation, the Ministry Of Truth, has been called the 'world's sexiest and UFO suicide mind-control cult.' They can be reached at info@minitru.org.
