Here's Amanda's review about her Goo concert;
My encounter started at the Enron Earth Day Concert on April 1, 2000. I
had gotten there early with my friend so that we could try to get towards
the stage. (There were NO seats and 21,000 people showed up!) I was so
excited that we got in the very front!!! We had to wait for the other acts
to preform before the Goo's took the stage...this was about 5 hours! When
Smash Mouth was preforming I saw John walk on the side of the stage to check
out the crowd. I started screaming and I held up my sign and John looked at
me and waved! The lead singer from Smash Mouth gave me a weird look b/c I
was screaming for The Goo Goo Dolls and not them! It was soo funny. When
they took the stage everyone started screaming and clapping. When it died
down a little bit I yelled, "I love you!" and John looked at me and smiled
and said, "I love you too!" I then yelled, "NO! I LOVE YOU MORE!" and John
smiles at me with those beautiful eyes and says, "NO! I love you more!" I
was so happy. The press was in front of us in this blocked off area for
security and they all tured around to take my picture! All I could say was,
"oh my god!" It was the best day of my life. As the concert went on I had
like 5 signs and I would pull them up and I noticed that John would read
them and he would smile! Later on in the concert he would drink from water
bottles and throw the into the audience. He pointed at me and threw one!
Only the girl next to me knocked it out of my hands and the guard picked it
up and gave it to her! I was so mad! John saw this and got another one and
threw it to me! My friend caught it and gave it to me! I was sooo excited!
As they played on the crowd would push forward. I was in the front, center
and I couldn't move an inch. I could hardly breathe at that. The poeple who
were body surfing would be taken out over my head. One girl tried to kick
the guard with her platform shoes, only she missed him and kicked me! It
hurt so bad. Then, when they were taking this one guy out my head got caught
between his legs and my body almost folded in half over the rail! When I
looked up John was looking right at me and mouthed, "Are you okay?" I
screamed yes so that the gaurds wouldn't take me out. After they finished
preforming the guards picked me and my friend up so we could get out. We
couldn't even walk right. My legs were all purple and I had a huge purple
and blue mark across my stomach. But it was worth seeing the that close! It
is my goal to meet them! So if they come back, every1 had better watch out,
cuz I am on a mission!
