Hey! this past saturday (June 8, 2002), I went to the Goo Goo Dolls concert at Foxwoods resort and casino in Connecticut. it was AWESOME!!!!! i absolutely LOVED it!!! i had been trying to win tickets to the kiss concert on the radio just to see them but it wasnt working. but just three weeks before the concert in CT, my friend called me up out of no where and asked me if i wanted to go to the goo goo dolls with her! of course i said yes after i promised to pay her for the ticket. the concert started at 9 so we got a room at the resort there. when we got into the theater i could hardly even breath and was squeezing my friends hand soo hard. it was the first concert of theirs that i had been to i was psyched! our seats were really good. you could probably see from anywhere cuz it only held 4000 people. we were right in the middle, right behind the lighting people actually. five for fighting opened up for them. i wasnt really a big fan of theirs but now i am. they were really good live. there was a break before goo goo dolls came on and i didnt think i could wait 30 minutes more to see them! when five for fighting was on stage we kept looking over to see the play list that the lighting crew had. during the intermission, they talked to us...we asked them if we could meet johnny, mike and robby and they said no so we asked them to just tell them our names. LOL finally goo goo dolls came on with 'big machine' (one of my favorite songs off Gutterflower) and i started jumping up and down screaming for the goo goo dolls. in between songs, johnny would stop and ask for the lights to be turned on so he could the audience. then he would switch guitars. it got really really quiet at one point and my friends and i screamed 'we love you johnny' and he ran back to the mic and signed 'i love you' and looked right at us because we were still screaming. at that point i was crying because it was totally amazing. i couldnt believe he heard us. the lighting crew just looked up at us and laughed... the next morning i had to check out of the resort early and my 2 other friends didnt check out until 11:30. they called me up at around 3 pm the next day claiming that they met Johnny as he was checking out. i was Sooooooo mad at myself and at them LOL but then when i thought about it after hanging up it didnt make much sence that Johnny would leave out the front door and so late in the afternoon when he had to perform in DC that night. i called them back and it turns out they were lying....some friends i have...LOL next concert i go to which will be on august 11 when they come to boston i want to meet johnny...i listen to Gutterflower everyday and his lyrics have helped me soo much i just want to thank him if you havent already seen them in concert you should they kick ASS!!!
