Stop in Time
J.Jacobs/C.Ward
She is my best friend
Unchipped, Unscathed
I could never do her justice with my ordinary hand
Only a fraction has been filled with her blessing
Beating, beating
Beating was all I could hear
You'll stop in time, you'll stop in time
And I'm handing you this life in hope that you will make it better
And I'd run to you, but there's nothing left to do
But pull these eyelashes, and watch them fall, and wish
She has helped me
More than anyone could have
Helped me see
My humble self
It's too bad I love her more than anything
This wasn't originally written as a song. I had an idea in my head for a poem I wanted to write for a long time. It's about my best friend (as the first line says) who I had feeling of great love for. But the wrong
kind of love. I wanted to be with her so much and I would often find myself getting angry when she didn't want to do anything with me. I realized that if
our friendship ever fell apart, it would be my fault. So this poem is pretty much self explanatory. Chris said he liked it and he would try to integrate
it into a song. I liked how it turned out. I think it is one of our best.

This is a song that I really like. I had a chorus written but didn't have any verse, and I really liked Joe's poem, so we put them together. It is different and kind of like "Mineral" because the verse isn't written in any kind of stanza or rhyme pattern, and I really like that. The chorus is about a girl I sat next to all semester in one of my classes, and I would kill for a chance to talk to her again. She is one of those mysterious and smart next door kind of girls I would rather just marry and skip all the foolish dating stuff. But of course, I would settle for that too. Anyway, she drove me nuts and that's what I wrote about.
