This is a gift to Robert from his mother.
I was only too happy to do this for you, Mary!
Thank you both. Roxie

A Trucker's Oath has alway's been.
To give your own life to try and save ten.
When your behind the wheel of that big ol'' truck.
Staying alive isn't much more than luck.

Every driver has thought what it is they would do.
When that tiny car is coming up quick, right in front of you.
With no thought at all the wheel jerks for the clear.
Because... In the back window a tiny head might appear.

But once that wheel's jerked, there's no changing track.
Now you try to contol her but she wants to fight back.
Things race through your mind, everything seems absurd
Then you lose the wheel when your steer hits the curb

Now you regain her and jerk back to the road.
But the angles to great and she shift's her load.
Now you can feel it, that tilt to the right.
Then the roadway begins to fade out of sight

The last thing he said before he began.
Mom...I gave my life so I could save ten.
Now the ashes are all that remain on the mantle.
This time, God gave you more than you could handle

This poem is dedicated to the unsung heros
who gave there own life.
To save the lives of many others.
God Bless The American Trucker
