Information for you on GNR's touring plans (but no info on an album release date).
GNR will be playing in CHINA! After playing the festivals, look for GNR to tour the US starting in late September and ending around Christmas.
Here's the dates I have been given:

Big News Slash! Buckethead, Les Claypool, Brain and The Woo Warrior - Bernie Worrell at Bonnaroo Saturday, June 22 at Bonnaroo featuring: Les Claypool (himself), Buckethead on guitar, Brain (drums of course!), and the one and only Bernie Worrell on keyboards (of Bernie Worrell and the Woo Warriors, former member of the original Parliament/Funkadelic, Talking Heads, and Praxis). You can now buy tickets.
TICKETS: A limited number of Bonnaroo tickets will be released on Saturday, May 18th at Noon EST. Tickets will be available at www.bonnaroo.com. Once this new allotment of tickets is sold, there will not be any more available. THE SHOW WILL BE SOLD OUT. There will be no tickets available at the gate and we are asking those without tickets not to come
