About MeWhy did I create this site?My name is Dobromir Harrison and I'm a graduate of the University of Wales, Aberystwyth with a BA (Hons) degree in Film and Television studies. I`m currently working in Japan as an English teacher on the JET Programme. So why did I decide to create a site about Takeshi Kitano? Well, for one, I became a huge fan of his work after seeing Sonatine and, later, Violent Cop and Hana-Bi. When Kikujiro was released in the UK I witnessed a different side to the director; a film that was playful, energetic and funny. I was intrigued. Also, during the third year of my degree I wrote an essay about Kitano called Flowers, Fire and a Violent Cop, the basis of which has now become this site. As I'm a film student, I chose to approach his films through that point-of-view; hence, this site is not a factual, but an analytical one. If you're looking for more information about Takeshi Kitano or his films, take a look at my links for some excellent resources. |
