Martin from Slovenija -What drew you to Survivor, to purchase their music? Or which was the first Survivor song you ever heard?
Martin: The first song I ever heard from Survivor was the Eye of the Tiger. I heard it in Rocky III movie and it immediately caught my attention, but then I somewhat forgot about it. When I got it on some warez CD I got really fond of it and listened to some sample clips of Survivor albums on the internet. Then I decided to buy their first album (for me), naturally Survivor Greatest Hits. The major attribute of Survior's songs that drew me to buy eight albums is that incredible melody in their songs. And both Bicker's and Jamison's voice rocks too.Do you remember "the Year" that you became a fan?
Martin: Yes, I do. It was 1999 when I bought Survivor Greatest Hits. It is not long ago, I know, but then again I was not in any kind of music before.Do you have all their albums? Which are your favorites?
Martin: The only one I don't have is their second Greatest Hits, but I do not miss it much. I even have a copy of japanese release of the Survivor album, thanks to Mrs. Jamie Evers. Two of my favourites are Caught in the Game (I adore almost all nine tracks) and Eye of the Tiger (especially EOTT, The One That Really Matters, I Am Not That Man Anymore and Ever Since The World Began).If it's not too personal, can I ask your profession or occupation?
Martin: I am in second grade, taking physics course at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, University of Ljubljana. http://www.fmf.uni-lj.si in case anyone is interested...Do you have other fans/friends/co-workers in Slovenia who you can discuss Survivor's music with?
Martin: Two of my friends are fond of Survivor music too, but they are not real fans. One is more in metal and the other is some sort of electric guitar lover, fan of Santana, Camel, Satriani, Oldfield and alike. He says that Sullivan is really good. :) But they are both great music lovers and we discuss Survivor music too.
