Toreadors in College

Boone girls' basketball has been blessed in recent years with some very talented players that have decided to further their careers at the college or university level.

Alicia Irons--University of Northern Iowa

Alicia is Boone's career leader in steals. She ranks second in assists and third in scoring. As a senior she was selected third team all state by the Des Moines Register in class 4A--Iowa's largest classification. She still holds records for most steals in a game (10), a season (102), and most 3-point field goals in a game (5). She will be a redshirt freshman next season at UNI after sitting out her first year with an injury.

Lindsey Pleuss--Waldorf College

Lindsey is probably historically one of Boone's most decorated female athletes. She was selected all state in softball and basketball, was a state track qualifier, and an all conference volleyball player. She is at the top of every career statistical category except steals and blocked shots. She holds records for points in a game (30), field goals in a season (134), field goals in a game (12), 3-point field goals in a season (45), 3-point field goals in a game (5), defensive rebounds in a game (10), assists in a season (94), assists in a game (9), and is the only Boone girl to hit the 1000 point mark in her career (1083). Lindsey will be a junior at Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa. Waldorf is making the transition from junior college to a four year NAIA school. Lindsey was an all-american as a freshman.
