BRUTAL
FAITH, this Brazilian band was created in 1997 in São Paulo.
This band has been seen as a "revelation" in the
scenery of Thrash/Alternative Metal.
The musicians are: Maurício Cliff, (bass/backing vocals),
Pete Cavalleiro (guitars) and Tony Fontao, a former member of
Leeway, a wellknow Hard Core band from New York (drums/ lead vocals)
.
BRUTAL
FAITH ´s first album was
released in October,
2000 by Animal Records (recently the band is no longer part of
Animal Records by contract) and
it was produced by Marcelo Pompeu ( a wellknown Rock/Metal Producer
in Brazil). This CD
contains a mixture of sounds from the 70´s
with Modern aggressive music, Metal, Alternative and
Hardcore, which has been drawing attention of the public who are
affectionate of Metallica, Pantera and Sepultura. The album
has been distributed not only in South America by Century
Media, but also in Europe and United States by Perris Records. To
promoted their album they played
around the country and during their presentation at the
Olympia (the most important Music House in São Paulo, Brazil)
together with Overkill, they broughted more than 5000 kids at the
place. |
BRUTAL
FAITH has been listened in
many radio stations not
only in Brazil, but around the world like Verrice (Chicago's
underground Webstation), as an example. Their first video has been
seem for several times at the
Brazilian MTV and others Music Channels. A
lot of articles about the band has been appearing in
specialized south America Metal Magazines as Rock Brigade, Metal
Head, Dynamite, Planet Music and Roadie Crew.
BRUTAL
FAITH also appearing at many music sites, the songs
(Resistance, Time We live in, Burning Ground and Bitch) hits
the top charts at MP3's for more than two weeks on roll. The band
was invited to participate at Coffin Joe's latest movie, which will
be released in the
first semester of 2002, recording
the soundtrack with
Sepultura. At the same year, BRUTAL FAITH will
participate, as the only South America representative,
playing "Jump in
the Fire", in the
Oficial Tribute to Metallica, by Perris Records, together with the
band, C.O.C. and L.A.
GUNS, had confirmed
their appearence.
