History:
Dysphoria was formed in March of 2002. Justin and David contacted Doug to play drums for the new band they were starting. Progress came quickly for the band, and after about a month, the band had a total of six songs. They went by several names such as Incompetent State of Mind, Minus Blindfold, and Rambling Dysphoria before deciding on Dysphoria. The summer would also go really well for the band as far as progress goes. By the end of the summer, the band had written all but three of the songs in their catalog. They also had completed a six-track demo entitled Incompetent State of Mind. Their first show was at the Moose Lodge, and it was not a pleasant experience. Luckily, there were only about thirty witnesses to the monstrosity.
As school started things began to slow down for the band. Practice times had been cut in half and the band began to experience writers block. The one turn around for the band would be two more shows, where they did rather well. The first one was at the Roundhouse, and the second was the AHS Battle of the Bands, where the band placed third and won the People's Choice award. Also in January, the band recorded a full-length album entitled ...I Think We're Ten Years Too Late. The CD is still on sale for $5.00 a copy. After that, things began to slow down considerably. The band hadn't written any new songs since November, and they were making no progress with the songs they already had. Practices became few and far between. In early March, the members decided that it was in the best interest of the band to move on.
