The band Free Hate has come together with 5 members .. Mike (vocals), Matt (guitar), Mim (bass), Ant (drums), and Adrian (guitar). The band was formed about a year ago by the lead singer, Mike, it first started as a three piece, but the cold harsh reality was that the only person in the band with real talent was Anthony. It was Mike, Aids, and Ant. But that order just didn't work out, so Aids kind of knew this girl off his msn and they chatted alot, and he found out that she was a bass guitarist. So we aksed if she would join the band and make it work. So the band was going for a few weeks and we were having band meetings to discuss what we wanted to get out of the band and what we were going to call it, but before we did that we had to work out who did what. It came to a conclusion that Mim was bass, Ant was drums, Mike was vocals and Aids was guitar. One band meeting we had, all of us decided to look for a name on the net. We searched and found a name that had kind of a significance to all of our lives .. FREE HATE. So the name was given. For months we didn't do anything cause most of us didn't have the instruments, so that kind of side tracked us for a while. But one day a guy in my class (Matt), he was already in a band called Oxygen. They asked me to do vocals for a few songs for them. I soon found out that it was breaking up and Matt came to me and asked if he could come in the band. Later I got wind of Matt being a guitar player so he came into the band. After everyone was in the band we got the drum kit. The band soon started to practice without Matt. Aids had a guitar, Mim had her bass, and Ant had his drum kit, and Mike had a shitty mic. The first practice we had where all band members were there, I got a good mic and we got to practice two songs .. Nirvana's "Smells like teen spirit", and Korn's "Blind". After that practice we did several better practices than the first one, this time start to finish, and it sounded fucking awesome.
Lately the band has gone very slow becauase of school and other things, but soon FREE HATE will be playing countless numbers of live shows in and around Ballarat, so we hope to get some more songs under our belts plus our own shit.
