Script Chapter 5
Assault on the Control Room.
[Begin first cutscene]
[We're in a massive circular domed room, a huge lighted pillar rises up the center. The camera looks down on a number of Covenant Grunts on a large platform connecting to the side of the room. One Grunt is on watch-duty, the rest are asleep. The Pelican dropship rises into view in front of the platform, mere feet from the Grunts]
Grunt: "*sniffing noises*...Yipe! Aaaaahhhh!!!"
[The Grunts flee into a doorway inside the wall leading out of the room]
Foe Hammer: "This is as far as I can go."
Cortana: "Roger that, we'll be able to find our way to the control-center from here."
[The Pelican spins onto the platform]
Foe Hammer: "Good luck, Foe Hammer out."
[The Master Chief hops to the ground]
[End first cutscene]

[Begin second and final cutscene]
[The Master Chief walks into a room as a large door opens with a hydraulic hiss. He pauses to look around. He's in a large dome-shaped room again. The floor that he's standing on is being held hundreds of feet above the bottom of the room. The floor is translucent and reflective, It gets progressively narrower until it reaches the center of the room, where it arrives at a terminal and circles around a holographic display. It should be noted that the floor when looked at from above, is an exact replica of the Marathon symbol]
Cortana: "This is it. Halo's control center."
[In the center of the room is a holographic display of Threshold, Basis, and the Halo locked in orbit between the two. Surrounding these, a much more massive hologram of the Halo rotates. The Master Chief continues walking toward the center]
Cortana: "That terminal, try there."
[The Master Chief arrives at the terminal and removes Cortana from his head, inserting her chip into the panel. Cortana's hologram image appears above the holographic display area]
Master Chief: "You alright?"
Cortana: "Never been better. You can't imagine the wealth of information, the knowledge, so much, so fast...it's glorious!"
MC: "So, what sort of weapon is it?"
Cortana: "What are you talking about?"
MC: "Let's stay focused, Halo, how do we use it against the Covenant?"
Cortana: "This ring isn't a cudgel, you barbarian, it's something else...Something much more important...The Covenant were right, this ring...It's Forerunner. Give me a second to access...Yes, the Forerunner built this place, what they called a "Fortress World", in order to-...Wait...No, that can't be. Oh, those Covenant fools! They must've known, there must've been signs!"
MC: "Slow down, you're losin' me."
Cortana: "The Covenant found something buried in this ring, something horrible, and now they're afraid."
MC: "Something buried...Where-"
Cortana: "-The Captain, we've got to stop the Captain!"
MC: "Keyes? What do w-"
Cortana: "The weapons cache he's looking for, it's not really...We can't let him get inside."
MC: "I don't understan-"
Cortana: "-There's no time! Get out of here, find Keyes, stop him. Before it's too late!!"
[End final cutscene]
