Script Chapter 3
The Truth and Reconcilliation
[Begin first cut scene]
[We are overlooking a large dark vista, the Halo rises into sky in the distance like a massive arch. The larger (closer) portion of the arch is rimmed with a faint blue light, hundreds of stars twinkle in the blackness beyond]
Cortana: "The enemy has captured Captain Keyes, and are holding him aboard one of their cruisers: the Truth and Reconciliation."
[The camera rotates right, a cliff comes into view. In the distance a large Covenant ship hovers in the air]
Cortana: "The ship is currently holding position approximately 300 meters above the other end of this plateau."
[A Pelican roars past the camera and hovers above the cliff, kicking up clouds of dust]
Marine: "So how do we get inside the ship if it's in the air? The Corp. issued me a rifle, not wings."
Sergeant Johnson: "There's a gravity lift that carries troops and supplies between the ship and the surface, that's our ticket in."
[The Pelican spins 180-degrees, leaving the aft portion of it's body hovering over the ground, with it's nose jutting off the cliff]
Cortana: "Once we get inside the ship, I should be able to lock-on to the tracking single from Captain Keyes' neural implants."
[The Master Chief hops from the Pelican]
[End first cutscene]

[Begin second cutscene]
[Purple, shimmering particles rise through the air. A Marine stands on the grav-lift. As the Master Chief and the other Marines watch, he curiously looks down as he's suddenly lifted off his feet by some unseen force and glides upwards]
Marine: "Whoa!!"
Marine #2: "Yeehaww!"
Sergeant Johnson: "Whoa!"
[The Master Chief is standing in the center of the grav-lift, he watches as one by one the remaining Marines are lifted into the ship. The Master Chief now alone on the grav-lift looks up at the camera, which is now directly overhead, and finally glides into the ship, blurring out the camera]
[End second cutscene]

[Begin third cutscene]
[Captain Jacob Keyes is lying on the ground propped against a wall within a Covenant prison-cell. The Master Chief gives him a hand and pulls him up]
Keyes: "*frustrated sigh*...Coming here was reckless, you two know better than this."
[Keyes brushes the sleeve of his uniform]
Keyes: "...Thanks."
[The Chief follows Keyes into the main prison chamber]
Keyes: "Marines! Lock and load your weapons, let's be ready to move."
Marines: "Yes sir!"
Keyes: "While the Covenant had us locked up in here I overheard the guards talking about this ringworld. They call it: Halo."
Cortana (speaking through the Chief): "One moment sir, accessing the Covenant battlenet..."
[The Master Chief rests his Assault Rifle on his shoulder while Cortana explains]
Cortana: "According to the data in their networks, the ring has some kind of deep, religious significance. If I'm analyzing this correctly, they believe that Halo is some kind of weapon...One with vast, unimaginable power."
Keyes: "Ah, then it's true. The Covenant kept saying that whoever controls Halo, controls the fate of the universe."
Cortana: "Now I see...I have intercepted a number of messages about a Covenant search team, scouting for a control room...I thought they were looking for the bridge of a cruiser that I damaged during the battle above the ring, but they must be looking for Halo's control room."
Keyes: "That's bad news. If Halo is a weapon, and the Covenant gain control of it, they'll use it against us and wipe out the entire Human race...Chief, Cortana, I have a new mission for you. We need to beat the Covenant to Halo's control room. Marines! Let's move!"
Marine: "Yes sir."
Marine #2: "Okay sir."
[Keyes picks up the Needler lying at his feet]
Keyes: "Chief, you have the point."
[End third cutscene]

[Begin fourth and final cutscene]
[We're in a Covenant docking bay, the Master Chief touches an area on a holographic control-panel]
Cortana: "That's it, the dropship is loosed."
Keyes: "Everybody mount up, let's get onboard."
[The dropship spins and becomes parallel with the second-story of the docking bay. It's left-pod opens. Keyes & co. are obstructed from view, but supposedly they board the dropship]
Cortana: "Give me a minute to interface with the ship's controls."
Keyes: "Ah no need, I'll take this bird out myself."
[A pair of Hunters on the second-floor jog out into the open]
Cortana: "Captain, Hunters!"
Keyes: "Hang on!"
[Keyes accelerates towards the Hunters. Both Hunters fire their fuel-rod cannons but miss as the ship's pods ram into them, and with a groan, the Hunters are smashed against the wall]
Marine: "Nice one sir!"
Keyes: "Time for a little payback..."
[The dropship spins right and accelerates past the camera out of the docking bay]
[End Fourth and Final Cutscene]
