Blues Scales

Looking at these pictures you might have noticed that the Blues Scales look almost exactly like the Pentatonic Scales. Congratulations! Your check is in the mail. The Blues Scale is the Pentatonic Scale with one added note. Guess what kind of music it's used for? BLUES! Generally, anyways. This scale has six notes in it, but only five forms that are used. Technically there should be 6 forms, but it usually doesn't sound correct starting on the added note and it's just a pain to have to memorize another scale. Also another little thing about the blues scale is that sometimes it is played with alternate picking (when there are two notes on a string) but when you come to a part where there is three notes on a string you must economy pick it, where you start on a downstroak, then up, then down to the next string where you star with another downstroke.
