Honor System

As you play the game you will notice that as you kill certain monsters, the color of your name begins to change. This is due to the loss or gain of honor points. The current honor ranking of a character can be found in the character window in the game. To get to the character window, either press F2, or click the 'character' button at the bottom of the game screen.

How is honor gained and how does it affect characters? Well, a character gains or loses honor points depending on which types of monsters the character kills:

Monsters can vary in color, as depicted by their name, from Red (you gain +7 honor points) to Pink (+1) to White (0) to Light Blue (-1) to Blue (-7). Note that certain special monsters appear in Yellow and do not affect your honor.

If you kill red monsters then you gain honor points, develop positive karma, and become blue

If you kill blue monsters then you lose honor points, develop negative karma and become red

You should make an effort to only kill one of the two colors. If a player decides to kill blue monsters, that player should then refrain from killing red monsters, and vice versa.

During game play your honor setting can affect the outcome of using your skills, and quests, as well as determining the reaction of monsters (red monsters will not attack characters with negative honor, and blue monsters will not attack characters with positive honor). For example, the first two or three skills a player gains will be the same to all players, whether those players are red or blue, but later on blue players start to gain blue skills and red players start to gain red skills. These 'colored' skills not only have a level prerequisite, but also have an honor prerequisite.
