Guadalupe Mountains, Western Texas


 

The Permian sediments of the Guadalupe Mountains in Western Texas and New Mexico are one of the best places in the world to study ancient carbonate deposition. Every major carbonate marine environment is represented in undeformed, excellently exposed outcrops. This website contains many pictures of the classic formations found in the Guadalupe Mountain region.
