Michael Angelo Batio will begin recording a new CD starting on July 19th, 2004. Michael has recruited some very special guest stars for the release - Bobby Rock will be playing Drums. Rudy Sarzo will be playing Bass on a few songs. Rudy is an incredible bass player having worked with Ozzy (with Randy Rhoads), Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, Yngwie Malmsteen and currently Dio. In addition to this Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti will be performing a guest guitar solo. Former Nitro vocalist Jim Gillette will be singing on a few of the tracks. Lita Ford will also be performing on the new CD. One of the tracks that Jim will be singing on is a song that Lita Ford, Jim and Grammy award winning songwriter Michael Dann Ehmig wrote called 'Bitter Seed'. Guitar virtuoso newcomer Bill Peck will also be performing on the album along with British guitarist Stuart Bull and Metal Method founder Doug Marks. We are looking for a late October, early November 2004 release date. This CD is going to be awesome.

2nd August: Deb Mikesch gives us another **exclusive**!!

"The new CD is incredible. Bobby Rock has completed the drum tracks and Michael has finished his leads and is buried in the studio working on rhythm tracks. There is a particular song that Michael has written that totally blew me away! I smell a hit!!!

This week, Bassist Bill Kopecky will be in the studio. From there, it will go to the other Artist's involved. Everything is on schedule and we are stoked for the release! "

26th June: Bobby Rock met up with Michael and Bill Kopecky to jam in rehearsal for their summerfest show this Sunday! Deb Mikesch dropped by to see them and then talked *exclusively* to speedkills.cjb.net:

"I met Bobby Rock last night! He is in town for their performance at Summerfest on Sunday. I stopped into the studio to hear Michael, Bobby and Bill Kopecky create some incredible songs for the new CD and for their performance this Sunday at Summerfest.

Watching these stellar artists create amazing music before my eyes reminds me of why I got in the biz in the first place. I'm proud to represent Michael Angelo Batio, Bobby Rock and Bill Kopecky on the Summerfest stage on Sunday".

19th June: Jim Gillette has revealed some info about the new album in a recent interview (available in full here). He had this to say:

"I’m going to sing a few songs on Michaels new CD. It comes out at the end of the year. We are doing one called Bitter seed. It kind of a Metallica – like ballad. Everything is kind of Zeppelin sounding with an Egyptian feel. I’m also singing the chorus on a song called 'Revolution Maker'. It’s a cool tune. We are also going to do a remake of 'Wherever I May Roam'."

8th June: Deb Mikesch, Michaels' agent, has told me of what's happening right now with the CD, exclusively for Speed Kills: Studio Update!

"So far, Michael has finished most of the parts for some new songs that will be on the CD, and has turned them over to one of the bass players for his input. He's got a great lineup of cover songs too, but it keeps changing so I won't say what they are just yet.

All musicians listed on Michael's announcement are inked for the CD.

We are flying in Bobby Rock to play drums for Michael's gig at Summerfest on June 26th. Bobby will also lay down the drum tracks for the CD during this visit and another visit in July.

It all hits the fan July 19th when recording officially begins."
