Photophase is :

Joel - Guitar, Lead Vocals
Rob - Bass, Vocals
Chris - Percussion

Photophase stared out with Mike Kilgarriff (currently in the band Young Bipilot) and Matt Tesner (currently in the band Drop Foot) asked Joel to form a band.  Joel, who was not currently in a band, said hey what the hell, I'll give it a shot.  But the newly formed band was missing a drummer.  Joel and Mike approached Chris (who lied to Joel about being a drummer) and asked him to be the drummer.  Chris gladly accepted the position.  They had their first practice on December 26, 2001.  After that and several other practices the band gradually grew further apart.  Eventually Matt joined Drop Foot, and the band turned out to be just Chris and Joel.  We would practice our favorite Nirvana covers and discuss the mystery of who actually killed Kurt Cobain.  When Joel realized that Chris was serious about being in a band, Joel called his good friend, heterosexual life mate, and ex-band mate from Burning Dawn, Rob Newett to be the bass player.  Rob Newett couldn't pass up the chance.  And that's how Photophase came about.  We also added rythm guitar player Jim McGinely to the band, but Spring of 2002 Jim left due to personal reasons.

Influences
: Nirvana, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Offspring, STP, tad bit of Green Day
First-Current bands
: Started in a band called Burning Dawn with Matt Roakes (Drummer) and Robert Mitchell Newett (bassist). The band kind of fell apart and then I met Chris Seminack who lied and said he played drums for a year when he was younger. So I started a band with him and Mike Kilgarriff (bassist) and Matt Tesner (Guitarist/Lead Vocals). After that band plummeted through hell, Calvin’s dad stole my porno tape and I ended up in a band with (heterosexual life mates) Robert Mitchell Newett (bassist) and Chris Seminack (Drummer).
